the access..
So after looking at the access.. ive decided to add a reverb to the soundwave.. a bounce of sound off the ground to create a new wave...
in this space there is an entry way into the building and a new way of experiencing the entry..
ive also for obvious reasons, widened the stairs and added a lift onto all floors..
on the whole im happy with the experience of traveling through this space and after this is most of the experience of this place..
so..heres a final shot before the presentation...

Final Track
Ive finally found an artist who does something very similar to what i want in the supper club...
using voice samples and live sounds he makes dance tracks, and this is something that i want...
the use of live sounds to make music....
so...here he is... Beardyman YouTube - Beardyman - Live in the Underbelly: The Full show

how it eats...
so....the food is all about intensity, and finger food or one mouthful tastings... a set menu, thats sesonal and forever changing to incorporate new sensations... the eating is blind, and soundscaped to suite...so i started just looking at the classic sushi, but also something more filling such as a small fillet of lamb...
how it sounds...
ive been looking and looking for something that would fit the style of soundscapes that i want to be created in this space and ive found a few products that combined/modified is sort of the idea i want... firstly... an ipad launchpad with a monome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LzN5g1hQAk&feature=related and the idrum beatbox edition http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0SuI2qYXfs ... both of these things have the sort of ideas i want in the space.... maybe adapting the monome tech to use live samples... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAyjcONJcaY ..... and http://www.youtube.com/user/NativeInstruments?v=gbuZVcw3ZiM&feature=pyv&ad=6941927413&kw=monome for some yummy synth noises....that are randomly generated...
ill keep looking and start recording a sample myself...
and start finding the food...

and onto the structure
the main problem ive been having is the structure of the building...and while a central core in the building would be ideal, im affraid the contorted nature of the building has made it impossible, so, im considering a lightweight internal space frame construction so as to not impact on the outer facade....which is probably the most important asthetically, whereas the internal space is all about the experience...
so ive been looking and experimenting with a space frame, and i think im convinced...
after reading this site... http://archnet.org/forum/view.jsp?message_id=274296 it is definitely worth exploring..
we shall see if i can in such a complex and curvilinear shape...

how to get some elevation...
ive been thinking about access through the building...and it seems im hooked on the idea of spiral stairs..
it seems to represent the flow of music very well, its no wonder as time in music is circular....so ive began the search for some ideal stairs for the design...and i think ive got some good ideas...
they seem to convey the organic shapes im looking for in the rest of the building....
i really like the yellow set on the left as they are lighter and more open, an idea that im also trying to keep in this building, despite its monumental form....hmmmm..now to make them fit....

The Dining Experience...
http://www.anneofcarversville.com/health/deeply-sensual-dining-in-the-dark-blindfold-preferred.html |
Ive been thinking a lot about the dining experience; And the sensory deprivation idea, and I think the idea that people queue in the entry, and one by one get taken down, blindfolded and with earphones on, they are seated alone in there own space; one seat, one table, and the menu is read out.
A gastronomic adventure of appetizers one by one; just a mouthful of intense flavours; with an accompanying sound scape.
Seated in silence with nothing but the food to experience; to smell and taste.
I found this interesting link about the very idea: http://www.anneofcarversville.com/health/deeply-sensual-dining-in-the-dark-blindfold-preferred.html
Sound really interesting.
I have changed the movement experience thru the space as well. I'm using very small personal sized lifts for the transition from the entry to the bar area, it is also shared with the diners and a varied scope of stairs winding up through the building from entry to roof.
It should make movement through the building a move sensual experience; We'll see...
