Ideas continued...

So looking at my main ideas from the folie to the bar i come up with a list of ideas i want to transfer...
The first is Safety...and instead of the literal translation the folie offered...im going for a more abstract idea.. Safety in numbers, and as the club is going to be designed for a small crowd, im going with holographic projections on the dance floor...the overall idea of the club is to manipulate peoples perceptions of space and time...To change their reality.  So im recording and re-broadcasting holographic projections of people as a way to make the space busy and full regardless of the numbers and also to manipulate the images into more static or dynamic influences on the space depending on the moment...
This manipulation hopefully, when taken to the extreme, have the opposite effect of a sensory deprivation tank...Saturation of the senses.
To add to the visual manipulation i want to create a sound scape, one fueled by live recordings of the city around...
Sound pumped into the space around the users...

The other ideas were related to manipulation of the scenses but none more so then the building itself.  I started looking at the building as a "hanging" structure, intimidating to the pedestrians below..and slowly worked at the form...
From the curvaliner form on the left to the more angular ones on the right, but nothing felt right...

Then i thought of the link between what is above and below my folie, and how the relationship is the most important shaper of the space, and how this relationship, could help form the shape of my building, what is above, is below...

So i looked at the form, and using the form as a visual link, one based on sound waves and water movement...
 The form...So far

my idea's so far...

So im starting to look at a movable roof that manipulates the sounds reflection in the space, and with speakers located in the roof, adding extra sound to the space...
This then became an idea of domes that hover above the patrons, transmitting sound into the space, and recording sounds from the space... The idea is i could have microphones placed around the spaces outside, and inside and broadcast those sounds into different domes...  This would create a sound scape that is disorientating and manipulative...
Another idea is a wall made of a large translucent screen, that when translucent shows the city view, but with overlays of images, manipulate the vision of the city and also manipulate the experience inside, such as speeding up time outside showing a full night and day cycle in a few hours to change the effect of time in the space...
This could be also used as a wall of opacity and relieving a few squares of light outside looking at the city, only letting particular views to particular people...
To manipulate sound, and vision my main focus of the folie.. and perhaps the main ideas i can use in the building...

what is a supper club?

i mean...what is a supper club...really...what does it in-tale, and what is the common ideals amongst the lot of them...
and i think its...exclusivity, not for the famous, but for people who know, anybody, as long as they meet some dress requirements can enter...and that is completely different to most exclusive places...
it seems that they are all about the experience, and less about what a typical club is, a place to get drunk and find a partner...it more about the enjoyment of food and drink, and ones own friends...and that sounds like fun...

they have these sexy intimate photos and it going to be a little hard to create this rich experience, well not hard to create, just hard to represent...
ill see how i go...

wow...

wow...just wow....

Wow...the interier is where its at..

Just looking at various ideas for my club...and more specifically this interior presentation next week...
There is some amazing sexy spaces out there....like.. http://ideasforhouses.com/2011/01/06/interior-design-tron-legacy-club-end-of-line/ and the most crazy awesome site... http://www.thecoolhunter.com.au/bars..
And then there is some new tech like...3d holographs...flexible screens...and crazy transparent screens...
I cant help but think that it wont be long till we can design complete empty spaces that just fool the audience into "seeing" things in the space, but really its just a blank box...or maybe an amazing space and add more with this tech....hmmm...stuff to ponder...
